I read an article about some of the mitigating circumstances Exam boards receive. Apparently, one student successful got upgraded from a ‘C’ to a ‘B’ after claiming she wasn't fully 'composed' in her Music GCSE exam. I don't know whether she was trying it on or not but it made me think that I should have appealed back in 1986 after I failed my Statistics’s O level saying one attempt, one failure did not constitute a robust sample size to accurately grade an individual with any statistically certainty.
